The Curse of The Blood

There is a small cabin hidden inside the forest where no man had been before. In fact, the villagers that lived nearby are very afraid to enter the forest. That was because of the spirits they had heard on some nights: howls and roars frightening everybody. But who would dare to live in that cabin surrounded by fiends?

It was a cold winter night years ago, when a young girl experienced the symptoms of a terrible disease: her body got weak with a fever and the shaking chills didn’t allow her to sleep. Nausea occurred continuously, but the worst part was the loss of blood.

She asked her parents for help, but they (an old couple that were related) didn’t know how to stop what they thought was an inner hemorrhage. They couldn’t answer the anguished questions of their daughter either. And she resigned herself to the suffering without any consolation.

Late at night, she was lying on her bed incessantly screaming of pain, when the sharp stomachache became a huge need to eat. Suddenly, she felt the biggest hunger ever. She was becoming an unrecognizable creature that terrified her parents. With every drop of blood she spilled, she felt the urge to recover it with her fangs.

She wanted to find and consume until she was satisfied and the hunger forced her to leave the bed.

After she attacked her mother, her father grabbed his rifle and shot her. But the bullet didn’t kill her and she fell unconscious. Then he made a tough decision: he took their daughter away to keep her locked in a distant hunting shelter, to avoid possible attacks in the village.

So that girl grew up isolated, lacking communication, and learning to accept her condition knowing that certain nights (each month), she shall feed indeed.
