Emily Longed to Feel

Emily used to contemplate the sky from her window. Does not matter the colour that it displayed, she knew that the endless night sky would one day be the absolute shelter for her despair.

Urban noise, human chaos and all that oppressive punishment was getting to invade the sacred space of her high den, like a predator that crawls hunting to her nest of quietness.

When has the city become this damned hunted entity? How did those ghosts and demons managed to climb to her only hiding place and alter the communion with her loneliness? That one: her faithful ally that always has extended her a helping hand or had dedicated her a whispering breath in the comfortable darkness.

There were not many moments in which her self-confessions kept her unbreakable, but there were so many emotions that emanate from her incipient crying, that at the end of the day turn in her only and recomforting company. Even though it could get to be a real torment that slowly made her insane… Or perhaps even more conscious?

Emily longed to feel, to feel everything what was always denied to her. That gesture of authentic understanding that as much as she had hoped to get, nevertheless never got.

How much longer did she have to wait? How much longer must hide the reason of her inevitable delirium?

One day Emilie knew that her calm would soon arrive by leaving behind the sweet torture to which she gave herself up every day.

She walked slowly with her gaze firmly set to the night sky and opened her window to finally give herself to the cold embrace of infinity.
